In order to meet the needs of sustainable agriculture data, the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) will for the first time carry out the Integrated Agricultural Survey (SITASI) / Agricultural Integrated Survey (AGRIS).
AGRIS / SITASI is a breakthrough and innovation in providing agricultural-rural statistical data in Indonesia, especially in supporting the calculation of indicators of Agricultural SDGs in Indonesia.
AGRIS / SITASI combines core questionnaires and modules to photograph the agricultural sector in detail, integrated, and comprehensively in the inter-census years. Core questionnaires are implemented annually to capture key information, while module questionnaires are rotated to photograph thematically in the agriculture sector.
This year, BPS has trialled an activity called the Integrated Agricultural Survey (SITASI) and plans to carry out the Integrated Agriculture Survey (SITASI / AGRIS) for the first time in 2021 according to FAO's recommendation.
SITASI, which is planned to be held routinely every year, aims to respond to the need for timely, better and cost-effective agricultural and rural data. SITASI will provide better data to monitor agricultural development goals and improve agricultural policies.
It is hoped that the presence of SITASI / AGRIS can be a starting point for the availability of sustainable data systems for agricultural and rural statistics in Indonesia. More than that, SITASI / AGRIS is also intended as a first step towards a new era of international standard Agricultural Census that will be carried out in 2023.
At present, SITASI / AGRIS is in the preparation phase of trials which will be carried out in three provinces, namely West Java, East Java and West Nusa Tenggara. To achieve the objectives of SITASI / AGRIS, the implementation requires the support of various parties, such as the central and regional governments, relevant ministries / institutions, and international institutions. It is very important to emphasize that SITASI / AGRIS is one of the important and urgent national activities to be implemented in supporting the monitoring dashboard of agricultural development and SDGs in Indonesia.
