The BPS of Rembang Regency and also other District / City BPS in Selindo in March 2018 will carry out a routine agenda from the social statistics section, namely the National Socio-Economic Survey (SUSENAS). Susenas is a routine survey that is the most awaited result by the government because it produces indicators of community welfare, namely the poverty rate. Therefore this survey requires careful preparation so that the implementation runs well.
Starting the preparation for the field implementation, one of the efforts carried out by BPS was data collection of price ranges, which aimed to obtain the minimum and maximum price ranges of several food commodities (such as rice, fish, vegetables and other food ingredients) and non-food items (clothing, ingredients fuel, estimated rent, etc.) at the location of the sample. Price range data collection is carried out by field supervisors (PMS) and starts from 4-19 February 2019. Respondents who are targeted for this activity are traditional market traders, shops, basic food stalls, peddlers, minimarkets, and even information from block households. sample census in the Susenas sample area. Markets that are the location of surveys such as Pasar Rembang, Kaliori Market, Sluke Market, Kragan Market, Lasem Market, Pamotan Market, Sulang Market, Kragan Market and others as well as a supermarket / convenience store where people shop. The supervisory staff enthusiastically went directly to the field to the respondents to get information on commodity prices. This price range data will later be used as a reference in the susenas data collection for consumption and expenditure (KP) modules.
The data generated from the Price Range (RH) questionnaire is used in data processing (data entry) to avoid the occurrence of human error in processing Susenas data later. The supervisor also converts food ingredients to facilitate enumeration in recording the ‘number of household consumption of a commodity that is usually purchased or consumed in units that do not match the standard unit. For example the purchase (for consumption) of spinach, kale. At the merchant level, they usually sell at a price per bundle, while in the RH questionnaire, the unit for vegetable commodities (spinach, kale) uses units of kg. Likewise for other commodities whose unit prices do not match those on the market, a unit price conversion must be made.
With accurate and quality commodity price data, it is expected that the data and indicators produced will be able to describe the actual Rembang condition. (SR)
