BPS has been calculating the poverty rate for a long time, since 1976 to be precise. The methodology that has been applied has also remained the same, namely using the "basic needs approach" concept, namely the community needs methodology issued by the World Bank.

What is the profile of poverty in Rembang Regency in 2022?
Based on the results of the March 2022 Susenas, it was noted that the percentage of poor people in Rembang Regency was 14.65 percent, a decrease of 1.15 points from the position in March 2021 of 15.80 percent. In terms of numbers, the number of poor people as of March 2022 fell to 94.56 thousand people. This number decreased by 6.84 points from March 2021 of 101.40 thousand people.

The poverty line in Rembang Regency in March 2022 is Rp. 441,482.00 per capita per month, an increase of Rp. 26,505.00 per capita per month or an increase of 6.39 percent, when compared to conditions in March 2021 which amounted to Rp. 414,977.00.

The Poverty Depth Index (P1) and the Poverty Severity Index (P2) for 2022 have decreased. Poverty Depth Index (P1), is a measure of the average expenditure gap of each poor population towards the poverty line.

P1 in 2022 was 2.41 or decreased by 0.36 points compared to P1 in 2021 of 2.77. The decline in the P1 Index illustrates that the average expenditure of the poor is getting closer to the poverty line.

Meanwhile, the Poverty Severity Index (P2) provides an overview of the distribution of spending among the poor. P2 in 2022 was 0.59 or decreased by 0.09 points compared to 2021 of 0.68. The decline in the P2 index illustrates that the disparity in spending among the poor is narrowing.
