    In 2015, the BPS will hold Consumption Survey Staples (VKBP15). Basic material covered in the survey are: rice, corn, soybeans, beef, chicken, onion, garlic, chili, wheat flour, cooking oil, sugar and salt. The 12 staples over the basic needs of society are the availability, distribution and price level of the basic material influence on food security. In addition, the availability of basic goods is also very influential on the macro economic conditions, such as: inflation, poverty, employment and economic growth. This survey is the development of studies and surveys conducted earlier. In 2011, the Food Security Agency (BKP), the Ministry of Agriculture in collaboration with the BPS has made a special study of the consumption of rice with a variety of approaches that are based on various sources of data that is susenas, Industry Survey, Consumption Survey and the National Rice Reserve and Input-Output. Then in 2012, BPS perform the National Rice Consumption Survey (VKB12) for complete data are not yet available for the calculation of the consumption of rice in 2011. Based on these results and the various developments that marked the last few years some price volatility staples such as cayenne and beef, it is deemed still need to be examined further with a wider scope and not only rice but also other commodities, such as chili, onion, garlic and beef. So that in 2014 carried 11 Staples Consumption Survey (VKBP14) are still limited to national-level estimates. For 2015, Basic Materials Consumption Survey (VKBP15) can already be used to estimate the provincial level.
     VKBP15 activities carried out in 34 provinces with a sample of 206 districts / cities, 1,200 businesses and 30,000 census blocks. Research units in this survey is a company or business that uses a staple in activities covered by the survey. Companies / businesses in this survey are grouped into two, namely the large and medium-sized enterprise companies / micro businesses. Medium-large companies include: companies providing accommodation (hotel), a company incorporated restaurants, catering companies, hospitals, prisons and large industries are (IBS). While the company / small business include companies / businesses providing refreshments and small micro industries (IMK) users staple.
     Updating large medium enterprise directory in Rembang already done in mid-March 2015, then in 6 to 30 April 2015 will be followed by a listing in selected census block. Listing is done at the household as an approach to acquire the business of providing food and drink as well as user IMK staple. At Apex district, samples spread over 17 blocks in the district census Sale, District Kaliori, District and Sub-District Kragan Lasem (each 2 blocks census); subdistrict Nest, District Sedan, District and Sub-District Pamotan Pancur (each 1 block census) and the District of Apex with 3 blocks census. Furthermore the enumeration of basic goods consumption in more detail will be held on June 1 to July 3, 2015.
     Officers Basic Materials Consumption Survey 2015 Rembang many as 6 people, consisting of four enumerators and 2 supervisors. Staff training has been carried out on 23 to 26 March 2016 Metro Hotel Semarang. The amount of activity in the BPS in the period April to June 2015 did not dampen the spirit of officers for the success of this survey as a real contribution to the achievement of food security BPS.
