Survey of Rice Tiled Survey Based on Area Sample Framework (KSA)

July 27, 2020 | BPS Activities

Tanning survey is one of the routine BPS activities carried out to collect food crop productivity data, mainly rice. This survey was conducted in conjunction with the harvest time by farmers. Data on food commodity productivity is very important because it is directly related to food security data. Starting from subround 3 (September-December) in 2018, survey of weaving for rice commodities is carried out through the Area Sample Framework (KSA) approach. KSA itself is a new method developed by BPS in collaboration with various institutions in order to improve the harvest area data collection method which was previously only based on eye estimates. This method is carried out in a more objective and modern way by involving technological devices in it, so that the data collected becomes more accurate. As a survey of weaving (pictured), BPS Rembang Regency through the KSK Pancur, M. Bukhori conducted rice weaving in the Warugunung Village, Pancur District. According to the statement of the farmer (Mr. Suryadi), the yield obtained this time was quite satisfying, because of the sufficient supply of water that is channeled from river water (using a diesel engine) and considering that only relying on rain-fed water is not necessarily getting the results it is today.
