At present the availability of valid and accurate food data is important in the Covid-19 pandemic. Valid and up-to-date food data is very important in making Government policies, especially in the provision of food commodities. Considering the importance and strategic importance of food data, BPS conducts the Area Sample Framework (KSA) survey in the last seven days of each month.

Area Sample Framework Survey (KSA) to obtain objective, accurate, fast and modern harvest area data using KSA devices / applications installed on the android officer. So that the agricultural data collected (rice and corn commodities) become accurate and timely.

The officer is equipped with the KSA application to determine the growth phase and will take pictures with the application and upload it directly on the KSA server, so that the determination of the phase of growing rice by the officer is also proven by visual images.

In this activity, each enumerator worked on 4-5 segments and each segment contained 9 sub-segments. The officer will determine the phase of rice growth in each sub-segment and will take pictures with the application and upload them directly on the KSA server, so that the determination of the phase of growing rice by the officer is also proven by visual images. Rice growth phase consists of initial vegetative, final vegetative, generative, harvesting, land preparation, puso, paddy fields planted instead of rice, and not paddy.

In the midst of a pandemic the officers continued to carry out health protocols in collecting data in the field.

For colleagues in the field, take care of your health and safety. Good luck always and keep up the spirits!
