National Labor Force Survey Training (Sakernas) February 2020

January 24, 2020 | BPS Activities

Rembang Regency BPS held the February 2020 National Labor Force Survey Officer (Sakernas) Training at the Fave Hotel Rembang for 2 (two) effective days, 23-24 January 2020. Participated by 9 participants consisting of 6 people from statistical partners as field enumerators ( PCS) and 3 people from organic BPS Rembang as field supervisors (PMS) guided by Regional Instructor (Inda), Khaerul Anwar (Head of Social Statistics BPS Rembang Regency).

The training was opened by the Head of BPS of Rembang Regency, Henri Wagiyanto, S.Pt, M. Ec.Dev, MA. In his remarks he explained about Sakernas activities and outputs / indicators produced from this survey including the Open unemployment rate (TPT), Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) and other indicators.

Sakernas is a survey that generally aims to provide a sustainable data base on employment. Specifically, to obtain estimates of the data on the number of employed people, the number of unemployed and other indicators and their development at the national, provincial and other districts / cities. Until now, Sakernas has experienced changes in scope, estimation level, implementation period and methodology. In Sakernas 2020, additional questions related to international migration were carried out, simplifying the choice of answers and changing the order of questions in the V.G sub-block.

At the end of his remarks, he said that BPS is currently endlessly striving to produce quality data. He advised all participants to take part in this learning to the maximum. Officers must play a role in maintaining the quality of data collected by the National Labor Force, must be in accordance with the SOP, be on time and have to do probing to the respondent. Why? Because Sakernas data is BPS mainstay data in explaining the phenomenon of employment in an area. Hopefully the implementation of Sakernas in Rembang regency and other regencies / cities will run smoothly, be completed on time and produce quality and accurate labor data.

During the training participants received materials provided by the instructor regarding the concept of definition, how to fill out questionnaires, confirmations and case examples in the field. In addition to the material, the officer can then apply to roleplaying (interview interview exercises) with the respondent already prepared by the committee. Here participants can interview respondents directly and fill in the results of the interview into the questionnaire. Furthermore, the questionnaire results of the interviews were evacuated directly by the instructor so that later officers at the time of data collection in the field can minimize errors both in the interview and filling out the questionnaire. After the next roleplaying the participants followed the deepening of the material to find out how the participants received the material given by the instructor.

Within the framework of the 2020 Population Census, the last day of the training there was a session to deliver the "2020 population census" delivered by the instructor. It is hoped that participants of the Sakernas training can become 2020 AGENTS OF POPULAR CENSUS by actively participating in supporting and succeeding the 2020 Population Census. (QNerwil)
