Annual Survey of Manufacturing Industry Companies

The industrial sector is a sector that plays a role in the Indonesian economy, this is characterized by its contribution which since 1991 was ranked first in the formation of gross domestic product (GDP).

For the purposes of calculating the GDP figures, figures from the industrial sector are obtained from the results of an annual survey of manufacturing industry companies which belong to large and medium industrial groups in all regions of the Republic of Indonesia.

In Rembang Regency, the contribution of manufacturing industry added value in the formation of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) is still quite dominant. For this reason, the development of this sector needs to be continued because in addition to increasing added value it can also increase employment.

The role of the manufacturing industry, especially large and medium scale in the formation of Rembang's GRDP towards total GRDP, the industrial sector has contributed around 23.10% in 2019. This sector is the second largest contributor after the agricultural sector. Many manufacturing industries are supported by the performance of several types of industries, including food and beverage processing and tobacco industries. This can be understood considering there are supporting resources. Among them is the Rembang Regency which has an area of ​​marine waters that produces capture fisheries commodities which are the input of the fish processing industry. Besides these types of industries, Rembang is also one of the Batik industrial centers which is centered in Lasem District.

Data collected in this annual survey activity includes: manufacturing industry directory that contains the name and address of the company, labor, wages / salaries received by workers, input costs, value of output, value added, use of raw and auxiliary materials, number and value of types of goods produced, the percentage of capacity and the addition / reduction of fixed capital goods.

The purpose of this survey is to provide complete, accurate, relevant and timely data and information on large and medium industry statistics for evaluation materials and development planning specifically in the manufacturing industry sector.

Data collection officers in the field are BPS-Statistics, namely the District Statistics Coordinator (KSK), while the supervisors come from the Section Head and Production section Staff.

As with other surveys, in collecting data in the field, officers apply the Covid-19 health protocol, namely washing hands with soap / handsanitizer, wearing masks and keeping a safe distance with respondents. Hopefully the field officers will still be given the ease and safety in completing this work and remain enthusiastic. (JQ)
