September 2020 Susenas Officer Training

September 10, 2020 | BPS Activities

Preparation for the September 2020 National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas) activities began with training activities. Training for September 2020 Susenas officer candidates for BPS Rembang was held on September 8-10 2020 with e-learning. Given that it is still in the covid-19 pandemic, training is carried out virtually with a zoom meeting and is attended by 16 participants, 10 as field enumerators and 6 as field supervisors, with instructor Faisal Lutfi Arif (Staff of the Social Statistics Section).
The training was opened by the Head of BPS Rembang Regency, Henri Wagiyanto, S.Pt, M.Ec.Dev, MA. In his remarks he said that Susenas is the "mother of survey" which has an important role in producing social and economic indicators. The poverty rate, is one example of the indicators produced from this Susenas survey. Susenas is held twice a year, in March and September. March Susenas for estimation of poverty rate at district / city level. Meanwhile, the September Susenas at this time will produce indicators at the provincial level. Unlike the previous Susenas, this time the questionnaire was designed to be as concise as possible to adjust to the conditions in the midst of the Covid -19 pandemic so that it made it easier for officers and from the respondent's side to also not get bored with the many questions asked by officers. The Susenas September 2020 uses a social resilience (hansos) and consumption / expenditure module questionnaire.
This series of training is not only concerned with the delivery of material by the instructor, but the participants also carry out direct practice (roleplaying) to interview respondents. Roleplaying is done by videotaping the results of interviews with respondents (each participant's family). In addition, quizzes and material depths were also carried out for officers via e-form. The success of this survey was also determined by the success of the officers in conducting direct data collection. Officers are required to understand the concept and definition of each question as well as the answer choices for each detailed question on the questionnaire. Not only that, the ability of officers to extract information (probing) also has an important role to play in producing quality data. Therefore, considering the importance of this survey, it is hoped that prospective officers can attend the training and absorb the material well. Candidates for SUSENAS officers are careful in carrying out their later duties, maintain health conditions, obey health protocols. Keep the spirit, hopefully the implementation of SUSENAS in Rembang district will run smoothly and finish on time. (Jq)
